Restore, Refresh, Renew!
Construction has shifted into high gear and significant progress has been made in many areas.
The top priority and focus of our Strengthen Our Foundation project has been just that ... the restoration of our structural foundation. With that in mind, we are pleased to share news that "foundational" issues are nearly complete. Visibly, most of these repairs are now hidden below the surface of the floor, behind walls or above the ceiling and this progress is not easy to see. That said, the most complicated, uncertain and labor intensive areas of work on this project are now behind us. These include:
installation of all new septic and drain lines
foundation wall repairs
vestibule floor reinforced
two support columns in the Banquet room have been updated
floor area under the alter and santuary area have been reinforced
electric panel has been updated
all floors have been surface grinded
final floor crack repairs are underway in preparation for surface sealing and new flooring installation.
technology cabling has been installed to all rooms
new and improved speakers have been installed in the Banquet room
Next steps for the "restore" portion of the project will be focused on rebuilding the restroom and kitchen areas. This will provide a much more visible progress and status of our project.
The second priority of our Strengthen Our Foundation project is about refreshing and renewing the appearance of our Church basement. From this perspective:
walls have already been repaired and painted in the Music room, Banquet room, East classroom, stairways from ground level to the Music room and East Classrooms as well as the elevator entrance and hallway into the basement.
Ceiling grids have been releveled in these rooms and fitted with new acoustic ceiling tile.
New lighting has been installed in the Banquet room to improve its use for our parish community. This includes a "bright mode" for meetings, workshops, funeral luncheons, etc ... plus an alternative "soft mode" using new can lights and wall sconce to promote its use as a venue for more formal events like wedding and anniversary receptions.
Next steps over the next two months in this area of the project will focus on completing the restroom, kitchen, serving area and entrance to the basement. We think you'll be very pleased with the new fresh and inviting appearance!
