Background Story

Holy Trinity Parish is organizing the STRENGTHEN OUR FOUNDATION project to renovate the basement. This plan has been generated through a five year process by our parish planning committee with the assistance of Garmann/Miller, an architecture firm located in Minster, and local contractors familiar with the church's construction.

The planning committee was formed in the summer of 2017 under the guidance of Rev. Richard Walling with the mission of developing long term improvement plans to the buildings and grounds of Holy Trinity Church. After several years of discussion and visits to other successful parish projects, options were developed for consideration.

In early 2020 a survey was sent out to all parish families to gauge the interest in making additions and/or improvements to Holy Trinity facilities. Survey responses indicated interest in improved facilities , such as a parish center for fellowship and youth activities. The responses also reinforced the urgent need to repair and update the Church basement.

The next step was to engage an architect to assess the condition of our facilities and to develop a Master Plan. After presentation of the plan to parish council, the STRENGTHEN OUR FOUNDATION project was formed in August 2022 and is actively preparing for the project to begin in the Spring of 2023.

Our parish has been built on a firm foundation through the efforts of our forefathers, God's people. Now , over 150 years later we must work diligently and enthusiastically to restore the home we share with our Lord. Reflecting on our history . . .
