RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
Director of RCIA
Sister Elizabeth Westgerdes - (419) 678-3101
The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is is a process for people who are looking at the possibility of becoming Catholic, wishing to learn more about the Catholic Faith and then deciding if they wish to become a member of the Catholic Church. The process begins in September and concludes in May. The sessions are usually held once a week in the evening.
Interviews can be scheduled with the RCIA Director anytime before the end of August in order to answer any questions the person may have about the process and the Catholic Faith.
Each person who enters the RCIA chooses a sponsor (already Catholic) who attends the sessions with them, and encourages and supports them. If the person feels ready to become Catholic by Easter, they would do so by receiving the Sacraments of the Catholic Church during the Easter Vigil.
